The Six Nature Energy- Cold
Today we would like to talk about “Cold Energy”. It is one of the sixth energy found in nature. The cold energy may be easier to understand as it is a sensation of coldness. The coldness we felt during fever is an invasion of the cold energy; therefore, fever is not necessary all caused by heat energy but can also be caused by cold energy.
In terms of Chinese Medicine, Cold energy is Ying Energy, opposite energy to Yang Energy. If Yang is life, then Ying is death. The cold energy slows down the flow of liquid and gas so does or circulation and metabolism; hence leading to critical disease and complex disorder, such as cardiovascular disorder, autoimmune diseases, hypertension and various gynaecological diseases. Eventually, it may lead to the termination of life. Also, we have known that as we ageing, not only our circulation and metabolism is dropping. Our strength against coldness also decrease. It is due to the decrease in Yang energy and increase in Ying Energy.
In the field of Western medicine, there is no study and research in how cold energy will impact our body and how we can mitigate its effect. In fact, most western medicines are having the property of coldness. Antibiotics are one example and Chinese medicine explains why the side effect of antibiotics includes loss of appetite and possible diarrhoea. Antibiotics control infection and inflammation which is known to present heat alike symptoms, such as fever, redness and etc.; therefore, it has
The relationship between Ying and Yang energy is not as simple as succession and suppression. It is more of a symbiosis. An example would be kinetic energy and potential energy. It has a completely different physical state, but it can be interchanged between each other. Rome was not built in one day. The cumulation of coldness in our body is by having a lousy lifestyle, diet and unstable phycological state for a long period of time. By the time of discovery, it will likely take some time to melt the ice. Having a positive attitude and an exciting life is the way to transform Ying energy to Yang energy, and to live a healthy long life.
